Rear Projection TV
The rear projection TV has remained somewhat popular
amongst the advent of visual technology today.
Especially when looking for a widescreen TV, more
viewers are choosing to purchase TV sets that use rear
projection technology. There are some obvious reasons
why this is so. For starters, TV sets using rear
projection technology come in a variety of sizes
compared to other types of TV sets, and can even come in
sizes as large as 70 inch models. Apart from the
different sizes available, these TV sets are often much
more affordable that others, making them the preferred
choice among consumers.
Rear projection sets work by projecting images onto a
screen, very much like the way images are captured in a
movie theatre. As a result, projection TV sets often
require a darkened room to get the best visual quality
possible. Because of the different sizes that are easily
available with projection sets, you should be able to
find one that will suit the size you require, easily. An
added benefit is the ease of installing a projection TV
set. Because there is almost no complicated assembly
required, such as mounting a wall bracket or installing
a mobile stand for the TV set, all you need to do is
position it so that it is at your eye level, which is
where you get the best image quality.
Most projection sets also offer a 150-degree viewing
angle, which is more than enough for most home theaters.
Depending on the space and area you have set up for your
TV set, you should find out how much viewing angle you
need, before deciding which TV set to buy. Once you have
determined the area where you intend to place the TV
set, you should also make sure that there will be
minimum reflection and glare where the TV set is placed.
One way you can reduce the amount of glare on the
screen, is to use a screen saver that will both protect
the screen from damage, and also reduce glare.
On the whole, rear projection sets require very little
maintenance. But with especially extended periods of
usage, some individuals might find their projection sets
getting dimmer and dimmer. However, these TV sets have
been designed to have their bulbs replaced easily. But
this rarely happens, as each bulb is built to last at
least 4000 hours, which means you seldom need to replace
the bulb of a rear projection TV set.
